made by De Bruyn (DB) Fives Lille.
In the 18th century, Jean Bernard De Bruyn owned a pottery in Leuven, Belgium. After his death in 1805 his son Martin took over, who in turn left the shop to his son Denis De Bruyn. Antoine Gustave De Bruyn, the son of Denis, is the one who located the factory in Fives in 1864.
Since 1887 the first pottery series appear: the pottery De Bruyn Fives-Lille: planters, jars, pots, but also tobacco planters, vases and fireplaces.
In 1889, De Bruyn was awarded a medal at the Paris exhibition.
In 1917, a fire destroyed the factory resulting in a very irregular production. In 1950 the factory was sold, they continued to produce pottery before closing in 1962.
